Water Soluble Calcium Phosphate

🧪 How to Make Water Soluble Calcium Phosphate (WCP) at Home

Using Bones, Vinegar & Optional Citric Acid Boost

Have you ever wondered how to turn leftover bones from your kitchen into a powerful, natural plant supplement?
Water Soluble Calcium Phosphate (WCP) is one of the most valuable KNF (Korean Natural Farming) inputs, especially for flowering and fruiting plants.

Let’s walk through the beginner-friendly way to make it using bones and vinegar—and for the more advanced, an optional citric acid booster.

🌱 What Is WCP?

WCP delivers two key nutrients plants crave:

  • Calcium (Ca) – strengthens stems, prevents blossom end rot
  • Phosphorus (P) – boosts root strength, flower development, and early fruiting

It’s especially useful during the transition from vegetative to flowering stage.

🧂 Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 🦴 Animal bones (chicken, rabbit, fish—fully cleaned & dried)
  • 🍎 Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother, unpasteurized)
  • 🔥 A fire pit, wood stove, or charcoal grill
  • đź«™ A wide-mouth glass or ceramic container (no metal)
  • 🧻 A breathable cover (cloth, paper towel, or coffee filter + rubber band)
  • 🥄 Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

Optional for advanced users:

  • 🍋 Fresh lemon juice (5–6% citric acid) or
  • 🧪 Food-grade citric acid powder

🔥 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Clean & Dry the Bones

Remove all tissue and fat. Let bones dry in the sun or bake at low heat (100°C) until brittle.

2. Char the Bones

This converts calcium phosphate into a reactive form for extraction.

Place bones on wood embers or inside wrapped foil directly in the coals.

Roast until they turn blackened or chalky grey, but not ash.

âś… Tip: A brittle “clink” sound when tapped means they’re ready.

3. Cool & Crush

Let bones cool, then crush into small chunks or powder using a hammer, rock, or blender.

4. Mix with Vinegar

  • Add 1 part crushed bones to 5 parts raw vinegar in your container.
  • Cover with a breathable lid.
  • The mixture will bubble—this is good!
  • Let it sit at room temperature for 10–14 days.

🧪 Optional Step: Add Citric Acid

To boost mineral extraction, add either:

  • 🍋 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice per liter of vinegar, or
  • 🧪 2–3 grams citric acid powder per liter

This synergistic combo with acetic acid can improve calcium & phosphorus availability.

Do not exceed these amounts—too much acid can overshoot the pH and reduce microbial compatibility.

5. Strain & Store

Strain the liquid through a cloth or mesh, then bottle in a clean glass container.

Store in a cool, dark place. WCP lasts several months.

đź’§ How to Use WCP

Always dilute before using.

Foliar Spray (early flower / fruit set):
→ Mix 1–2 ml per liter of water
→ Spray on leaves in the early morning or late afternoon

Soil Drench (flowering & root boost):
→ Mix 2–5 ml per liter
→ Apply near root zone once every 7–10 days

⚠️ Tips & Cautions

  • 🌤 Don’t apply in direct sunlight—spray during cooler hours
  • 🔀 Avoid mixing with phosphate-rich or microbial ferments unless well-diluted
  • ❄️ Keep WCP cool, dark, and airtight to preserve it

🌿 Closing Thoughts

This is circular farming at its best:
You’re turning waste bones into a bloom-boosting tonic—safe, simple, and powerful.

Whether you’re growing tomatoes, cannabis, or flowers, WCP made with bones and vinegar (and optionally citric acid) will take your garden to the next level.
